Radar Issues with Wind Turbines

The attached articles clearly show that there are degradations in both civil and military radar performance based on proximity to wind turbines.   It seems that the continuous rotational motion of the turbines interferes with radar returns from stationary and air based radars.   This can present significant issues with siting wind turbines near municipal or military airports.  Additionally, it presents some important security challenges regarding placement of turbines near potential terrorist targets.  The turbines might make it hard to detect low flying aircraft.   These important issues need to be addressed by governmental agencies responsible for approval of industrial wind projects.
